Rental assistance can come in many forms. All types of rental assistance has the same end goal, paying rent at the end of the month. Many states offer rental assistance programs which sometimes are state funded. This is a great place to start. If you are not able to find any state funded rental assistance then you might have to look at other ways of saving money. Grocery assistance is a very popular program that exists in almost every state in the US. This program will give you spending money for food only. We know that you can’t pay rent with food but by not spending money on food you should have a little extra money at the end of the month. This is helping you build to your goal. These programs are designed to help you get back on your feet if you are unable to pay rent and bills. The links we have provided on this page are just basic guidelines for Rental Assistance but you must realize that each state is different and my offer different assistance. Most of these programs are designed to help someone that is temporarily having problems paying bills so although you are getting assistance you still need to be looking for other ways to make money and cover the rent and bills.
Other ways to save money
Saving money essentially becomes extra money you have at the end of the month to pay for rent. There are several ways that people are able to save money. Here I will be listing just a few that are easy to follow and can save you hundreds a month. First, eat at home. Everyone tells you that eating at home is a money saver but is it really? The answer is no. If you eat out the food you get will probably cost just as much as the food you buy for a meal at home. But, drinks are what are expensive. Many times drinks outcost the meal by over three times. Eating at home you will be able to enjoy a few beers with dinner for a fraction of the cost they would get you at in a restaurant. This leads directly into my second rule for saving money, be cheap. If you are going out with friends make sure you are taking advantage of specials and happy-hour deals. If you plan a outing during happy hour time you can save more then half on your bill. Be conciseness of what foods and drinks are cheap and when, then take advantage. Lastly, carpool everywhere. If you have a daily drive then it is a great way to save money by carpooling. You can see it like this…you drive 10 days in a row to work. If you split that ride with another driver that would only be 5 trips in your car for the same amount of time. Thats a 50% savings. If you follow these rules you should be able to save a little scratch. We have more guidelines coming soon. stay tuned.
I need help with paying my back rent. There were buget cuts on my job which made it that I couldn’t pay any rent. I’m a mother of a 1 year old and I attend school. I’m also dealing with a $1000 light bill. I owe $1225 in back rent and I just need that paid so I don’t have problems with my rent assitance. I don’t want to lose my apartment. I really need help.
I need help with paying my back rent. I have been laid-off my full time job and my unemployment has rund out. I have been working part time doing as mant hours they give me but its not enough to pay my rent. Can you please help pay my rent of $820.oo. I have an eviction for June 23, 2011.

I am in need of help with my rent. I lost my job and went back to school, now I am finished with school and looking for a job. The economy really sucks and I am doing the waiting game right now for a job. We have to get our rent paid right away or we will be evicted, any amount with help.

I lost my job a few weeks ago..I’m backed up on rent for two months..I’m depressed..my girlfriend is depressed..we haven’t been eating well..it has been really hard. my husbend, my 11 month old baby and i were all in a bad car wreck my husbend is in a wheelchair and cant do anything for him self he cant work and i have to stay with him and the baby at all times rent and bills are getting behind we could loose our house soon if i cant figure something out would be greatly appreciated if we could get a little help. Hi I’m a single mother with two children. I have a two bedroom apt my daughter and I share a room. My son has his own. We moved back three yrs ago from arizona after my husband left me. I was living with my mother and father but they moved and I had to get my own place. My son had brain surgery when we were getting ready to leave. Rents are so expensive. I started falling behind when I need to take days off here and there for my son has a chari malformation that he needs to live with. I work as many hours that I can. My incone is very low.
