I am a single mother of two and lost my job in March. I like most others am getting unemployment which is not close to being enough to pay the bills, I have sold anything of value , cut off the direct TV ect and now have not paid rent for May and here June is. My landlord is not sympathetic understandably so but in the meantime I am facing eviction and have no place to go. I lived week to week already so there was no money in savings. I desperately need help.
Hi. I am just moving here from Georgia and I had to find somewhere to live quickly! Living on the street is just no good. I have a part time job but with the transition its hard to keep my bills together. Eventually I will get to that point but right now I am having a bit of a hard time. I know my situation is no different than a lot of others but the only difference is I don’t mind asking for help. So if anyone could help right now that would be wonderful and greatly appreciated. Just asking for advice for now. Am 2 months behind in rent due to not enough paycheck to cover all the bills. Am employed with the local school district but have wage garnishment for student loans and other bill collectors are taking my wages also. Also need to buy a radiator for my car. Wife does not work and with food and utilities, my income has not been enough these past 2 months.

Hi. I am the mother of one young child, a beautiful baby girl. My family and I have fallen behind on our bills and are now facing an eviction and a shut off of our electricity. We need help and we need help fast. My spouse is currently the only breadwinner in our family and we live in an area where it is mostly housing so it is difficult for me to find work when we have to share one car. I’ve contacted my local social services agency and they are out of funds until October of this year. They said I should try local churches and charities, but the soonest appointment I can get isn’t until the end of this month and by that time it will be too late. Please help save my family.
I am the single mother of 4 children and i lost my job in July. I am currently receieving unemployment, but it doesnt take care of all the expenses. I am currently in a court case for child support, but due to the backlog in the j and d court system, my case is not til next year. I am currently behind on rent for October and now November. Hi, I’m a single mother of three. I lost my job september 30th 2011. I was wrongfully fired and my job is all we had. My daughter whom is 13 is being mentally affected by this and my oldest son which is 10 comes home from school in tears because of the other kids calling him gay because he’s out grown his pants a little. I’m loosing everything i’ve worked so hard for to havr. In less than a week I’m being evicted. I can’t help anywhere. How do I look at my kids and tell them we have no home. i have a job but hours have been cut so my cost of living is higher than what i make. i had a car accident last year and broke my shoulder also had two surgeries this has put me behind in bills .not to mention we had to come up with the money to bury my grandmother.the only bills i have are car insurance ,rent ,carpayment,day care and my phone which is prepaid so sometimes i dont even use that.im on someone elses internet not mine to write this have tried to get a second job with no success .behind in all bills even rent which ive already recieved an eviction notice. im behind 1400.00 please help
I am, as many others, a single mother of two. I have been living paycheck to paycheck until I was laid off. I am behind in my rent and my electric and not sure what I can do. I haven’t received an eviction notice yet, so the state can’t help me. I’m afraid once I do get an eviction notice I will not have enough money or time to relocate us. I’ve been in shelters. They aren’t the greatest, but they are helpful. I am not trying to put my little girls through that again. I just need help. And I really don’t know who to ask anymore. Churches aren’t able to help, and the state can’t step in… so what options do i have? I am looking for a bit of assistance to pay this months rent and last months. I can figure out the electric somehow, and the gas, and the car insurance. It’s the rent I would not have the ability to afford.

I’ve been on unemployment since October and my dad is trying to get me a place even though I haven’t found a job down in his area. I have a hospital bill, a loan and 2 credit card bills that eat up about half my monthly unemployment and am worried I can’t even get a place with having security deposit upfront and monthly rent…I need help and i am in Western Michigan near Grand Haven

My name is Yvonne and I am also a single mother of two, soon to be three. I was living in a homeless shelter and decided to get an apartment with my childrens father again. Unfortunately things did not work out and he has left but this time taking all of my savings without my knowledge. I am pregnant and cannot work. My baby is due in two more months. I just need to be able to make rent until then and I can start working immediately after the baby comes which will be a triple increase of what I earn now on maternity leave ~ i am a waitress so i get a lot of tips. My contract job ended this summer abruptly so I had to quickly find a new job which is $14K less than I was making. My husband lost his job in September; he just found a part time job which began at the end of December. I have been struggling to maintain bills and now we are behind on December and January’s rent. I have been determined to find a better job, and was just offered a position with the state of Wisconsin last week!! I’m SO excited, but it is going to be impossible to recover these last 2 payments. My husband and are looking for a cheaper place for us and our 2 kids, but we need to get current first! My landlord is trying to be patient (because we were always on time for the past 2.5 years we’ve been here) but the letter he wrote today explains that he also has bills to pay for the property and needs payment. We just want help to resolve this so we can find more modest accomodations while we get back on our feet.
Hello there my name is Eric and am unable to get caught up on my rent and bills. I am behind 3 months rent to total about $1600. Mainly due to now being on layoff and only working about 6 hrs/week at my part time fill in position at the local school as a custodian. My landlord has worked with me this past year with me slowly falling farther and farther behind. Now I think he has had enough. The local agencies have told me that I don’t make enough on unemployment to get assistance with rent and that I make to much to get energy assistance. I am able to keep up with my rent if I can just get caught up. I even started to volunteer at the local food shelf here in my town hoping if I give to people in need maybe someone would come and rescue me from this hole I’m stuck in. (PAY IT FORWARD) I know that there are people with children that deserve help more than I do. Any help with paying my rent or advice on how to get other help will be greatly appreciated. I have been a stay at home mom for the last ten years my husband passed away in november 2010 i have used all of insurance money trying to maintain i have tried everything to get a job but im not having any luck i even spent 2700.00 to take a dental assisting course only to find out after thefact that it wasn’t an accredited program i have 10 days to move my credit is horrible so everybody is asking for very high deposits i have all my furniture listed on craigslist for sale if there is any help out there please let me know at settnustr8@yahoo.com
In 2009 I was receiving VA disability, but that was severed because I waited too long to file the claim. In the meantime I had moved to a better apartment and started college. But, with the severance of the disability so went the VocRehab benefit. I have been able to support myself with the overage of school loans. Now, I will not get another school stipend until the end of the month and that will be too late as the landlord has given until Friday to get out. I really need to come up with $600 rent for December and January. Please help!
Dec. 2010 I was hospitalized. Onced released I realized I could no longer work and filed for SS Disability. I had some money saved and I know the claim would take time. I have ignored all bill except the most important. Rent and needs only. I’ve been receiving food stamps and got a small voucher to help with electric and propane. A disability lawyer has taken my claim from the start. I’ve been through the 2 denials and now waiting for a court hearing. My money has run out. My rent is 2 months due. My auto insurance expires this month and my tags expire next month. My lawyer ordered a medical exam and it took nearly all my fuel to get to it and home. I live in a travel trailer, so I can’t dare to lose my transportation or the lot space where I live. I feel sure I will be approved this time, but I need to be able to get through long enough to make it to the hearing. I’m 54, alone and very worried.
