I’ve been looking for quality rent assistance for a long time now. I recently lost my job and am looking to just get by this month.I was wondering if there was any way to borrow rent money from someone with little interest. I will be finding work soon which should help me with my rent problems down the road…but for now I’m looking for immediate rent assistance and help. Hi, I really need help with rent this month. I just got an apartment with my fiance and already we are struggling to make ends meet. I am only working part time, and barely getting 20 hours, I think I only got 15 hours this week. And we have alot of bills to pay. We have to pay 800 and we only need 400. Someone please help. My name is Malcolm Antoine. I need help with rent this month. My wife and I have been without work since May 2007. We are school teachers. Our school closed in May of 2007 due to low enrollment. We have been looking for teaching positions in all of the school districts in Houston, Texas. I am certified in Physical Education EC-12 and my wife ELA/Reading grades 8-12. We are currently living on student loans. We are both working on our Doctorate’s in Education. We will not receive anymore money until MAY 25th of 2009. I am in a situation similar to those listed. I’m married with 3 children, and I had to resign from my last job stress related. I’m currently in need of $1200 to cover my rent for this month. I’m a single parent and I really need help.I have 3 sons i live in Memphis Tn and i Lost 2 jobs in less than 30 days apart.I recieve unemployment benefits of $99.00 wkly and it’s not enough. i have to come up with $850.00 to stop the eviction then $675. for next mont rent which is due on the first of March. I,m trying to find a job but it’s hard without transportatin. I’m also in college to become an Registed Nurse and it’s hard. Hi All, There are some things you can do. I hope this helps. It is not going to make you comfortable, but at least you won’t be homeless. I was hit by a drunk driver. Broke my back in 3 places. So was fired since can’t use left hand. I am a widow with a 10 year old wonderful boy. Since I was in a coma and the drunk driver said it wasn’t his fault, my insurance tried to blame me so they don’t have to pay. If disabled- you can get 52 weeks of state disability. Which is 1/4 of regular 2 weeks of pay. It pays within a month. At the same time start requesting federal social security disability as it can take a long time. If lost job- apply for state unemployment. It will also be for 1/4 of your regular 2 week pay. And only for 32 weeks. But you get paid in 2 weeks. You must also register online at the state job site. With both you can work part-time. As long as you make less than $600/week, you can collect the full aid. Welfare can cover food stamps and sometimes give cash-aid. Catholic services can pay $300 one time every 2 years to help with rent. Also, they give a $100 food voucher. They can also help with PG&E. Renting a room from a friend can help both too. That is what I may have to do with my son. It is a scary time. We will all have to help each other. I don’t understand why we are not given any stimulus pay. Banks don’t need it. Hey everyone, my name is Malcolm Murphy, I live with my girlfriend and my girlfriend’s daughter who I love as my own. We have been living in this apartment for 3 months now and are $900 due on rent, and other bills ammount to about 400 dollars. I worked for Victoria Secret until they fired me due to our transportation issues at the time. We got an eviction notice about 2 weeks ago and thank God no one has kicked us out yet. Just reading these comments makes me laugh. If you can’t pay your rent then your priorities are not right. You always pay for rent, utilites, and food before you pay for your fun stuff like cars, cats, cigs, credit cards, or other bills. Just like Dave Ramsey says. I just love reading how you need money and that if I loan it to you will pay it back to me. The only thing is if you can’t pay your rent how are you going to pay me???

I have been out of work for 2 months and have not been able to find a job. I have been working at temp agencies but nothing long term. I have received an eviction notice today on my door and have to move out of my apartment. I really need help paying my rent before the 5th day of December. Hello, my name is lynn and I can’t pay my due my income is limited, and my husband has been incarcerated that has caused me to have a backlog in paying rent, I’m desperate to get that monkey off my back and want to become gainfully employed sot that I can contribute something back to society, this makes me feel some accomplishments that gives me satisfaction that I have something to give indeed. I also hate the fact that I have to literally ask for assistance, kind of make me feel less than a woman, but keeping my head up makes me feel a sense of respect. But this problem won’t go away unless the system address the issue properly, talking, about persons whose contined struggle is evident due to employment issues and the likes. Ok first Of all Id like to say that the People who are cutting others down cause there asking for help is wrong..There are good people out there who are going threw tuff times….Grow UP! My Name Is Mark and we are Also Going Threw a Tuff time right now with our rent.I have been unable to work for many years do to personal reasons and many sergerys and I recive $637.00 a month from SSI and our rent is $1200.00 a month..My wife Had a Full time Job and lost it about 3 months ago and Now she is Haveing a Problem finding a job.We are Scared Cause we have 2 Children in the house And have never been in this situation before..we were able to pay for rent and bills before my wife lost her job..We have never ever asked for help but have helped others in tuff times..Anyways we applyed for Emergency Assistance but we have not heard anything from them yet and it can take upto 30 days before we well hear if they can even help..I feel really bad doing this but i dont know who else to turn to..My mom is 67 years old and lives in a very small 1 bed appartment getting soc-sec so she cant help…We have no other family here and what family we called could not help! My name is Jennifer. I have 3 children and am about to be evicted from my apartment. I was working and making good money until I had to have emergency surgery. I was off a little over a month and am almost 3 months behind. I just went back to work 2 days ago. If I don’t pay my rent within a couple of days, they are going to evict me. I went to a place called DHS in Michigan because I was told they would help. I was told that I make too much money now that I’m back to work!!! Please help me. My wife and I lost our 7 month old baby back at the end of July. I lost my job during the time I was back and forth from the hospital with my wife. The bills stacked up and we were responsible for medical bills on top of the others. I am two months behind in rent now. I have two boys 6 and 5. And we are going to be evicted in two weeks. I am working now and so is my wife, but it will be imposible for us to come up with all the money in two weeks ( 1100.00) We have no one to turn to and I am writing now in desperation. Hi my name is Lydia and i desparately need help for me and my two kids. I was living a in a house and my lanlord was taking my rent and not paying the mortgage and so it went into forclosure and she promised me when it went into forclosure that she would pay it to me and a year later and i still havent recieved it and i was counting on that to pay rent at the new place and so i have fallen behind more and more every month my bank account even was closed behind this andthe old landlord wont return my phone calls at all or pay me so now my new landlord is threatening eviction if i dont have the money or a guarntee of payment by the end of the month. I am looking for a one time assistance to help with my back rent while I get back on my feet. I am a United States Air Force veteran. I got out of the military in 2007. I went back to school and obtained my degree from Baylor Univerity in 2009. After graduating I moved to North Carolina in search of a job. I lost my job a few months ago and have fallen behind on rent and recently received an eviction notice. I just started a new job but will not be able to pay enough to stay in my home, take care of my children and put food on the table at the same time. I am a full-time nursing student and have 2 small children. I have been laid off since June 2010 and have been unable to find a full-time job since then. I am currently working a part-time job which I am only getting 1 maybe 2 days a week. I was able to keep up with rent until 2 months ago and have fallen behind and am now facing an eviction. Even struggling to pay the rest of my bills, all of it is so overwhelming, this is a constant worry on me, we have no where to go nor any family. The monthly unemployment that I get is hardly enough to keep up with the monthly bills and medical expenses for me and my 2 children. I am asking for any type of assastance. Gosh this feels awkward asking someone I don’t know for rent help but I really have no other choice. My husband is the breadwinner in the family *I have petit mal seizures and don’t drive plus stay home with the kids* and this summer he was fired from his job. We had plenty of savings and we had unemployment coming to him so thought we were fine to last until this month when jobs in his field started again. That was until he lost Unemployment. His employers fought since the day it started and finally on the 4th appeal they won. We have managed somehow to keep our heads afloat all these months but for the first time in nearly 2 years of living here we are late with our rent. It was due on the first and we have til the 6th as a grace period. Today it is the 10th and my landlord informed me several hours ago we have 5 days to pay until they start eviction procedures. We were hoping to pay rent with income tax but can’t even file til the 15th the day it absolutely must be in. Usually the rent is $800 but with late fees it is $900. I don’t know if you can help or not but I’m so at a loss it’s worth the try. Thank you so much for considering me and my family.

have you talked to your landloard about how at the moment you do not have your rent money? Most times landloards will work with late payments if you are honest with them. Also, what state are you located? There are many job resources for each state. If i know what state you live in i can point you to some job resources. Lastly, your husband may have to get a job that is outside of his field…at least until you are all back on your feet again.

For the past year my soon to-be ex husband have been seperated, than last summer he decided to move out of our rental home, he left me and the kids here, I was only working 28 hours a week, barely making it, Ive been sick alot lately, recently diagnosed with Congenital Lobar Emphysema, now Ive lost my job, no sign of him to help out, Im late on rent 2 months, I dont have the money to go somewhere else, security deposite/first months rent, Im having a break-down, I live in Pennsylvania, and I moved here 5 years ago with him from my hometown in New Mexico, I have no family or friends here, someone please give me advise or help.

I am not beggar but I am in serious need. Just another average Jane who has fallen on hard times, this can happen to anyone. I have recently found myself in a financial crisis that only seems to get deeper by the day.

My Story: I was hired by a company who took almost 2 months to run my cori and allow me to work. The company now claims there is information on my cori report which permits them from hiring me. This is a complete lie. I ran a cori on myself (in 2wks) and the information came back as I expected, NO criminal history. I am now in the process of seeking a lawyer for lost wages and personal damages. Due to this unfortunate delay of employment I have not been able to generate enough income to stay afloat with rent and my other bills. I have not fully paid my landlord in over 3 months and may now be facing eviction. He’s giving me until February to come up with the full amount before he has to proceed to housing court. I feel really bad because he has a mortgage of his own to pay and has been a decent landlord for the past 3 years. I currently owe him $1775 to get of this mess and I am keeping my hopes alive that someone will provide me with some immediate assistance. I don’t know what else to do. I am now currently working as a nanny but only making enough for food, essentials and my car payment. Luckily for me, my car hasn’t been repossessed so I can continue to commute back and forth to work (as well as to seek other employment)

My husband has been out of work for nine months and I only work part time. He was denied unemployment bcs his former employer said that he quit which was not the truth. We had just had a baby! What man in his right mind would give up a good job with two little girls (3 and 5) and a brand new baby. Our landlord has been really great but since we are soooo far behind on the rent he is threatening eviction. I’m really scared. My husband has applied and applied but no one is calling him back. I work part time and we receive food stamps so at least our children are eating but we really need help with the rent ASAP! Where can we look for help? Thanks.

Hello. I need help ASAP. I have rent due in the amount of 945.00 on 2/1/11. I lost my job on 1/11/11 and there is a 4 week delay in approving unemployment in our “Great” state of Arizona. I have applied for well over 40 jobs in the 10 days I have been unemployed. I have had a few interviews but no income coming in and no promise of jobs yet. My family cannot help me since they are 1-2 payments away from being evicted themselves. I’m very scared and stressed that I am 1 week away from being homeless with 2 cats and a 3 month old puppy. To complicate things, I’m pregnant and my boyfriend who is a truck driver doesn’t know yet since I cannot get in touch with him. I’m not sure what to do or where to turn to.

I am a 21 yr old college student. I am originally from San diego and when the fires hit in 2007 my family lost our home and everything that we owned. We were lucky to make it out with our lives. My parents have put 2 kids thru college and spent all the rest of their money trying to rebuild our house. We have no money left and are struggling to get by and my dad took a pay cut and transferred jobs. I am living on my own and am barely surviving and I am going to be kicked out of my apartment if I can not find a way to make $450 in rent by feb 1st. I need any help that I can get because I just want to finish school and better my life. All my life I was told that I would never amount to anything and that it would be better if I just gave up but I have stuck through it and kept in school. I am beginning to give up hope because now it seems as if maybe people are right and I am a nobody. Please help me with rent I am desperate.

Hello there! My name is Laura Turner. In June 2009, I lost my job. In July 2009, I began having seizures. Last year, I was officially diagnosed with epilepsy. My medication seems to be working and I haven’t had any seizures since March 2010, which is wonderful! However, since June 2009, I haven’t been able to find employment. At first, there were some obvious medical issues I had to sort out, but I have been looking steady for the last year with no luck. My husband works in landscaping which in the winter is dependent upon the weather. With the recent snow and ice storms here in TN, he wasn’t able to work for quite some time. They are beginning to get back into the swing of things, but rent is due in a week, we both have doctor appointments neither of us can miss, and expensive medication to buy. I don’t know what to do here. I can’t go without my prescriptions and neither can he. And we can’t be late with rent – we just moved here the 1st of January. We are stuck. I don’t know where else to go. My mother has been helping as much as possible with groceries and toiletries. I don’t know what to do.. I have been unemployed for 7 months and I have been unable to collect unemployment. I have exhausted all of my financial means and I need $900 for rent or I will face eviction. I pray that someone out here can help me with some of the past due rent if not all…..I have been looking for work and going on interviews but nothing yet. This is an humbling experience for me and now I do understand humility…..for I never thought I would end up here……..

I am a 21 year-old college student. Well, used to be. Tuition is very expensive, so I had to stop taking classes last month.

I have a minimum-wage job in Michigan and only get 15-20 hours a week. I am paid bi-weekly. Recently, to cover an outstanding cell phone bill and to help pay a previous month’s rent, I took out a payday loan at a local store. Now, I am stuck having to re-loan all the time and all my other money keeps going to other bills and food.

I have $310 due in rent ASAP… it was due on the first, but I don’t have enough money to pay it since I paid off the payday loan. I have literally $2.00 in my bank account, and I have the statement to prove it.

I don’t know what else to do. I can’t go anywhere else.

My husband decided he didn’t want to be married anymore, so he left me last month. Before he left me, he drained the bank account and left me with no money along with a trail of unpaid bills. He knew when he left I had no income and I was in school. I have a 15 year old son from a previous marriage, I do receive child support from his father, however it isn’t enough to cover my rent that is now due. I’m a full time student, I attend school everyday from 8:30 a.m -4:30 p.m. I recently found a part time job working on the weekends, however I don’t start it for a couple of weeks. I have nobody to help me. My mother is 81 years old and living on social security, and I don’t have much family. I asked my son’s father and he said he pays me child support and that’s all he is doing. I have exhausted all of my resources, and don’t know where to turn. All I want to do is provide a roof over my son’s head for the next month. If there’s someone out there who can help me, I would pay it forward someday. Thank you.

I’m in need of immediate help. I’m disabled because of mental illness.. I get SSDI but it is not enough to cover my rent plus utilities anymore.. the utilities are insanely expensive and after rent alone it barely leaves me with enough left over for food. I can’t easily move someplace with cheaper utilities either because my credit is so bad no one will rent to me. I’m lucky to have the landlord I have who hasn’t evicted me yet. I’m all alone and have no one to help me or talk to, no family, no friends, no references no anything and it’s making my ability to deal with things and my illness even worse because I always have to deal with everything all on my own. I’m completely overwhelmed. I don’t know what to do. I can’t even think straight. I’ve been taking out a payday loan every month but it just makes things worse. That’s the only kind of loan I can get because of my horrible credit. I only need about $1000 to be ahead again and stop panicking but I have nowhere to get that from. If someone who has money who is generous can help me, I would be so grateful. I’m not the type to ask for help, I’ve been trying to deal with this for so long on my own but I can’t stop panicking right now.. I keep getting more and more behind and I don’t have enough at all right now to pay my landlord. I feel so overwhelmed. I needed rent money two weeks ago.. I’ve been paying my landlord late for six months now and he’s getting fed up with me..

I have appyled for over 200 jobs with the Pennsylvania Career Link in Pottsville PA. over the past 2 years and (Nothing) at all. No Phone calls for an interview at all. I once operated my own business for years and helped others many times. Now I am on Public assistance for (Food) only ! I can not get any Cash help. I am about 11 months back on my rent. I have received help from the Schuylkill County Community Action Program for a few months of rent. In this life, you can be UP one day and then like me the next. Almost 3 years ago I made a conscious decision to quit my job and concentrate on finishing graduate school. I also needed to help my fiance, who was a disabled veteran preparing to have double knee surgery. Since then, he’s had the surgery and I have finished school. But, the rough Economy has hit me with a double whammy. Not only have I been unable to find a job, my homemade crafts website has had no sales because people just don’t have the money to spend or are just not interested in buying my products. I also have a book on the market about HIV/AIDS, that also has had no sales. Now my finace as become abusive and angry, because I have no money to contribute to the household expenses and he has severe PTSD. He has threatened to hurt me physically, he is an alcoholic bully, and I know that he is cheating on me and planning to abandon the relationship and me in the apartment that we live in. He no longer feels financially responsible for me, and he recently wasted over $3000 of his income that was supposed to pay the bills last month on who-knows- what…because he wouldn’t even admit that he had spent the money until it came time to pay the rent yesterday. Our lease expires on March 13th, 2011. My family is not able to help me and I need desperately to get back up on my feet financially before I can move on with my life. I think if I could just get $3000 to promote my business, find a decent place to live, and get my life together again, I will be able to make it on my own.

I had back surgery and am trying to get on social security disability, I am 2 months back rent and tryin desepertly to pay my rent off. I cant work anymore and there are no agencies in chicago that are willing to help. I am disabled and require a service dog in order to live independently. Unfortunately, my service dog recently became ill with an incurable condition and had to be retired. Without him, I canny function. Because my disability is non-tradition, I am unable to obtain a service dog from a program; instead I must work with a private trainer, which of course costs money.

I do not know if you would be able to help me because I have enough money to pay my rent, but I do not have enough to pay for my new service dog. I have no friends or family that are able to help me financially, and I have been trying to do fundraising. I’ve sold everything that I can, and it is now a choice between paying my rent or paying for my service dog, neither of which can I live without. As it is, I’ve already skipped paying several bills in order to cover my previous service dog’s vet bills (he has been rehomed and is no longer in my care), and I am desperately trying to come up with the money for his replacement.

My new service dog costs $1,500 and my rent is $625.

Hi, I am a single mother of 4 trying to do make it. I am in desperate need of help with my rent. I am currently fighting for unemployment and looking for jobs. No luck at all so I decided to go back to school to get a better education for a better job.
I was employed for 4 years at a job until a new manager came along and started degrading me and saying how I wasn’t doing my job. I was there 4 years and she was there for 7 months but she had supervisors on her side. She was a lieing coniving b****, and doing drugs and sleeping with the other manager. I had enough, nothing was gonna be done about her and I couldn’ take anymore. Why stay where u aren’t appreciated? But realizing I should of rethought that cuz now Im in a bad situation. I was layed off, The company I worked for shut my department down with no notice. So I came to work and I left with a pink slip. With the rising cost of living and the lack of VA check not rising. I keep falling behind in all my bills. I have to rob Peter to pay Paul each month to try to stay a head and it finial caught up with me. Now I am two and half months behind in my rent, way behind on my electric bill and as for my checking account will I am in double red. My name is angela and I recently loss my father to death. My sister shafted me for an insurance check that belong to me after my father’s passing but to keep the peace among silbing, I didn’t force any charges against her. She really showed me how much love she has for her own sister. Have gotten behind on rent relying on the words of others that said they would help, just started working again after a year of no job and no income. I have had to make it on my own with my wife, and did odd jobs and worked for people to help pay rent. now that I have listened to my family saying they would now help[ get back on my feet. I have gotten farther behind to the tune of $2500. and have a 3 day eviction notice.

I am a single father who recently was laid off. I have been working steady with the same company for almost 10 years, but because times are tough and work is scarce, I was let go. When my income tax came in, instead of getting the junker car I desperately needed, I paid my rent up for two months, certain that I would have a job by the time came due again. My rent is due 3-23-2011, and so far, no luck with my job search.

I have found that, because I am a man, I have trouble getting assistance elsewhere. Maybe their train of thought is that there is no reason why I shouldn’t be working. Believe me, I have been looking. I am a skilled laborer, painter and handyman, but now, I have even put in applications at fast food restaurants, convenience stores, and grocery stores. So far, I have heard nothing back.

My husband and I live in Northeastern Colorado I lost my job in Jan 2011 because I got sick and my husband lost his job a week later because his boss is a jerk (he pushed my husband just because and my husband ended up falling and breaking his wrist & we’re still paying on the doctor bill) and continued to abuse my husband at the workplace and when my husband stood up to him he got fired! My husband is from Mexico and we had a house fire and lost EVERYTHING including his papers and his sister in Mexico refuses to send us his birth certificate so we can get everything straightened out even though we send her the money for it. We have even tried the Mexican government from where he’s from but we were told that you have a bank account in a certain bank there but when we contacted the bank we could only open an account in person. I have been applying for jobs but the jobs that I qualify for won’t hire me and the jobs that will hire me I don’t have enough experience for. We have managed the past 2 months only because of taxes. Our rent is only $500/mos and includes our utilities but not our phones (cell & home) and they are about ready to be disconnected. I have tried asking for help here but all I qualify for is foodstamps as we don’t have kids and I’m not disabled. My husband is going crazy being stuck at home as he LOVES to work and I’m getting so frustrated and stressed with they way employers look at me since I’ve gained a lot of weight and they are thinking that I’m a lazy slob and that isn’t the case! I’m trying to get out and exercise but I can’t when I’m putting most of my time into looking for a job and working on getting my husbands papers. My family is just barely scraping by as it is otherwise they would help.

I am trying to get help with my rent and utilities, I have recently lost my job and am currently applying for any job full or part time, I have tried to get help through agencies but I do not have a dozen kids in fact I only have one and he is 20 years old, I am not eligible has become the normal out come of the question of can you help me, why is it that people that have never worked in our country can come here have babies for free (no cost) can apply for foodstamps and receive them at 215.00 per child 130.00 per adult and can also get SSI if they are deemed disabled, however I lose my job and almost everything else I have and I ask for help and everyone tells me that I am not eligible….something is wrong with this country…..

Hello my name is April I just recently got remarried and I have two children. I lost my job andmy husband is the only one who is working at this time. We just moved into a new house from an income based apartment complex, I had lived there for 5 years and my rent was only $50.00 per month, when I got married they were going to add my husbands income in for rent and that would figure out at $550.00 per month. the apartment was just too small for a family of four so we moved. In this new home I had to pay $1,300 to move in, once I started unpacking I noticed that there were dead cockroaches in the kitchen cabinets. I started infestigating more and pulled out the stove and the refridgerator and noticed a tremendous amout of dead cockroaches. I called my new landlady and explained the situation, she said that nothing should be in that house becuase it was professionally cleaned. I told her that it was not my responsibility to clean the mess and she insisted that if I did not like it that I could move. The problem just got worse, not only was I finding these dead bugs all over the kitchen but I noticed them in the left behind appliances. I also spotted cockroach feces behind the wallpapers and the kitchen ceiling. The stove is so nasty that it would take an army to clean it out. the thought of the dead bugs in appliances that I would be using to cook my food in disturbed me. I called the landlord and she told me to put them in the basement. Of course I was not replaced with new appliances. the neighbors have told me that the prior tenants were very dirty people and were evicted. The landlady never bothered to tell us that the house had a prior infestation of cockroaches. Last night I found what appeared to be a bed bug. I am not sure what they look like, but by now I am freaking out. I have called the bug company and the landlady and she said that I have a bug paranoia. The exterminator stated that bed bugs could live in an empty house for up to 18 months. We was told that this house has been empty for a year. I have been doing nothing but cleaning up someone elses mess and spending money left and right on cleaning supplies to sanatize this new house. I would have like for the landlady to state that she would gve my deposit back to me for all the hassel, but I haven’t heard nothing from her but complaining about me complaining. I just moved into this house 2 weeks ago and the 1st is in two days and I do not have enough to pay the rent. I am so stressed, I don’t even have a stove and refridgerator. What am I going to do. I really hope that this site is true and that someone out there will see this and help me out. If I can get through this month I am sure that things will get better. Hi, I am 22 years old and 8 months pregnant. My boyfriend Is around and a wonderful guy. But he got laidoff and did not receive unemployment. So we were 9 weeks with out a pay check. Went thru all our savings and leaning options. Im back to work now, as is he but they are slow and yea only working around 28 hours. I do receive food assistance, $100 a month and that helps but the dhs in my county is not very willing to help. If I could just get $550 for this months rent we won’t be kicked out and I can get the rest caught up when I get paid. It’s just I can’t make enuf to do it all. Hi, my name’s Harmony.
I live in an apartment with my fiance and our 5 month old daughter. When we moved in here last year, we had two roommates coming in from out of state to share the burden of the rent and bills with us. Our realty company pressured my fiance and I to sign the lease before the roommates arrived, so we were the only ones on it.
Things were fine for a bit, but the roommates were filthy and destructive. Messy I could deal with, but they wouldn’t take their dog out for days at a time and would just let it go on the carpet, saying it was one of our cats instead. Needless to say, to preserve the apartment and to keep a clean home since I was expected to deliver any day then, we ousted the roommates.
I had my baby then, but just after that, my fiance’s ex-wife came after him for child support for a child she won’t allow him to see, and then an old student loan began garnishing his paychecks. We now get about HALF of what he is supposed to take home between these two things and I haven’t been able to find a job (though I have an interview Wednesday so hopefully it goes well!) Even if I did get a job, I wouldn’t be able to afford child care unless it were a full time job… and I can’t get a full time job because I don’t have and can’t afford my GED.
Anyway, now with all the bills and rent that we were having trouble paying when it was half the amount it is now… we’re drowning. I don’t sleep the night anymore. If I’m not up tending to the baby, I’m waking up to worry and think about the preparations that I have to make to get ready to raise my child on a sidewalk.
My entire pregnancy we struggled and I just wanted a stable life for my little girl more than anything… but now I might even lose her because I won’t have a bed for her to sleep in. The only important and worthwhile thing I’ve done in my life is bring that sweet baby into this world and I’m failing her.

I lost my job back in February and haven’t been able to get a new job for some reason. My friend moved in with us knowing how difficult it would, but took the chance and currently trying to help, but so far no good. I’m married, no kids, but trying to support my marriage life. I need help with rent money which is $782 with tax. Rent is every 1st of the month and if we go over the 5th, fee charges applies which I can’t afford! Please help! Family won’t help, and any other programs aren’t reliable to help us.

I was pissed that I found out and took all of our money and left. I have three children 7 and under, 5 days past rent, and zero bucks in the bank. Applied for human services but it’s not going fast enough. The only charity in my area that helps with, is you pick a number and hope to get called, only 12 out over hundred get called once a week. Husband lost his job in Jan… Landlord is threaten to evict… we lost 85% of our income so we cannot afford the current rent anymore . We have 2 children (one with a phyiscal disability) and need help paying the rent until my husband obtains employment. We have tried to get help through the state.. but we need to qualify for welfare ( we dont). We are trusting God to make away and appreciate any help you can give

i moved from one county to another a month ago i have a section 8 voucher, i used all my tax money and emergancy assistance to move here and then the county i moved to said they can’t accept my voucher until july. i have 3 children under 18 and my husband works but we can’t afford the market rent here until july i also have a social security hearing comming up in june, so i don’t know what good that would do me to start looking for a job when i am disabled, i have been waiting since 2007 for this hearing. we payed our portion for this month but are still in need of 900.00 to cover the rest and some for next month. i am trying to get my voucher exstended until july so i don’t loose it, please we had to move from our last apartment on an emergancy basis they wouldn’t fix anything, and i am trying to be stable with the kids by the way one has anxiety so bad she can’t even go to school on a regular basis, please i have found no help here they keep saying good luck but no resourses for help…….

Hello! I am trying to pay my rent for this month and I am having a hard time getting cash. I am single, now in school, and have a job. I don’t have any money to pay my utilities also. It is already pass the 5th and landlord is getting impatient with me. I don’t have any other places to go to. My Family can’t help me because they are financial difficulties as well. Good morning… I am a 21 year old college student living on my own this year for the first time. Over the past three years I have lived with at least 2 other people making rent more affordable, but with my increase responsibilities to my school work, I needed to get away from the “college lifestyle” and focus on my education. Needless to say, my rent increased almost 33% and I am solely responsible for all utilities and bills. In addition, the government decreased the amount of loan money they offered me this year, and it was barely even enough to pay half of each semesters rent! Back during the heart of the recession and job losses, I looked and applied for about 40 to 50 jobs, and fortunately secured one. I work nearly full-time in a local retail store at minimum wage while still going to school (medical) full time. If I were to not spend a dollar on things such as a haircut, socks, food (other than the food assistance program) I would still be struggling to make my rent. I don’t understand how the government expects us students to make it through college with all of this stress! I mean, it’s not like they’re giving the money away… I have to pay it back!…So why not give me what I need to have a shelter over my head while in school?

Anyways, this month is April, the last month in our semester and I am just freaking out on how I am going to pay rent this May. Currently I am interviewing for another position which pays better, but any earnings from that position (cross my fingers) will not be in time for May’s rent. I simply don’t know what to do. I’m stressed, depressed, and am really searching for some hope. I wish I could put 100% of my focus into passionately pursuing my education, but this rent issue has plagued my physical and mental health this entire year. I don’t know what I’ll do if I get evicted, but dropping out of college with as far as I’ve come is not in any way an option. I’m scared of what may come and really just need help on this months rent until I work more than full time this summer at a better wage. My boyfriend and I live in an apartment with my daughter in Florida. At the beginning of his lease he had a noise complaint from the elderly gentleman upstairs. He just got another noise complaint after 9 months and we have received a 7 day eviction notice. This was for his car which the muffler was broken and we got it fixed. But the front office says we still have to leave. Which I am told is completely legal. However we just paid rent and now have no money to move!! Also no charities are considering this because we are not being evicted for money. The point is we have nowhere to go and I have a 5 year old daughter and we will be homeless! My name is Elizabeth Holtz. I am 33 years old and have been looking for a job for the past six months. I was diagnosed with MS when I was 18 and have applied for disability, but was denied. It is real simple – I have been unemployed since October 2010. I have managed to consume all my retirement funds, savings, and by the grace of God have been getting by with unemployment. I live in my apartment with my 2 babies and my boyfriend. We recently had our 2nd baby on Feb 14th. I have been on leave from my job since Jan 3rd, due to complications in my pregnancy. My leave is over from my job and I am no longer getting paid from my job. But I am still on leave. My boyfriend catches seizures, and can not watch for our kids. I have applied for title 20, and have been denied 3x. But until his disability gets approved (which has been denied 2x), they will not approve child care for us, and I can not return to work. He has dropped both of my kids already due to him having seizures. Thanks god that they have not gotten seriously hurt! I don’t know what else to do. I’m going nuts. Everyone who I have helped in the pass, have now turned their backs on me. I have no one to turn to. hi my name is ebonie. i recently fell into a sticky situation. I am a current college student, and all of my money is gone due to living expense and rent. My bank account is actually in the negatives. My financial aid office cannot and will not offer me any more money, i already took out an emergency loan which is done already. I have absolutly no money and my housemates slapped me with a 100 dollars i have to pay at the end of the week to cover my utility and cable bill. I have no way to pay my rent of 954.00. I recieve 824.00 unemployment monthly. I went on temp. disab. in December but that ran out in February. I was denied social security so I applied for unemployment and was approved. I have MS and not able to return to work at this time. I have been told from the local welfare agency they can not help because I’m recieving unemployment. I have no health insurance and since I have no small children and am recieving unemployment not eligable for state aid. I have no way to pay May’s rent and fear that I will be uninsured, disabled and homeless within a month.
I am recieving all my medications from the drug companies but unable to see my neurologist. MS foundation has given me a grant of 500.00 to help with may rent but i’m still short 454.00. I had to pay 1,600.00 in April to avoid eviction. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I am a 35 year old single mother of three children who just lost my job. I have been working as a medical assistant for the past 6 years and now I’m waiting to hear from foodstamps and unemployment. My name is Mo and my boyfriend and I lost our jobs at the same time and we can no longer afford our apt. We cant move to something cheaper because you need a job and good credit. We apparently make too much to qualify for food stamps, even though we cant pay rent or barely our bills.

I tried to get section 8 low income housing but the list is so long and they ran out of vouchers. I have been looking for a guest house where we could pay low rent and or work it off for the owners in some fashion but cant seem to find that either. Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do?

We’re about to be homeless and our one kitty is having seizures and I don’t want to put him through that. I am having my fingers go numb with horrible back pain which I no is not a good sign but I have to ignore it and find a job.
And I am not one to feel sorry for myself everone is having a hard time I just need some suggestions.

I have been looking for work for over six months , but due to my age of 62 years and some health conditions it is somewhat hard to find employment. I need help for my mom. She does not have a job and I can’t help her anymore as my bills are getting high. I have stopped paying my school loans and payed other bills in half to keep them on, and used that money to help her but that is hurting my credit score and pocket.
It’s tough because she’s my mom and I know I need to help her, but I have responsibilities of my own too that I can no longer afford to help her and me.

My husband had massive silent heart attack last August. When he fell down on the floor he broke his right eye socket, nose & right sinus cavity. CT Scan at the hospital showed bleeding in brain. He has recently had brain surgery to remove an abnormal vessel malformation. He was home from hospital 5 days when he suffered another heart attack. He needs a risky heart surgery & suffers from seizures. He is completely disabled. He has been turned down for disability twice and is currently in the appeals process. He is considered still employed with his company so he can keep his insurance but we have had no income since December 2010. We have managed to live off a loan against his retirement & our income tax refund but the money is now gone. Our church pays our utility & water bill. We are currently two months behind on our rent and the Landlord was supposed to be paying the lot rent but has not paid it since the day we moved in 7 months ago. We were recently approved for medical help, food stamps & temporary assistance that starts May 16th but is only $292 and our rent is $420. Our need is temporary but Landlord calls and harrasses and threatens almost daily. Thank you!

I am a single mother with three children. I have been struggling for some time now, and it has now caught up to me. I am on every waiting list imaginable, and one of them I was up in February, but with the economy the way that it is, their budget got cut so that put me to receive assistance in November. I have taken out loans borrowed from everybody, and my sources have been depleted. I’m a month behind on Rent. Ever time I think that I’ve found a way to get caught up, an essential expense rears its ugly face (so to speak). I’ve been on unemployment for over a year. As a result, my income is half of what it was. In addition, I now have my 9 year old son living with me full-time and because of “red-tape”-I still pay child support to his mother! My son, because of his mother moving around so much the past couple years has been to 3 different schools in 3 years. He loves living with me, likes seeing both his parents in the same home and is adjusting well, w/ friends, to the school right down the street from where we live. I couldn’t stand to see him get up-rooted again. That would not be good! He already suffers from general anxiety. I won’t take to many shots at his mother. Lets just say her behavior in the past and sometimes even now has been undesirable. At the very least, her judgment has been questionable! Ironically, my son’s Mother lives with me now as well. She had to flee a domestic violent home. Dependent on her parents for all, in her early thirties and now has been cut off completely from her folks gravy train. They won’t even talk to her and are very much alcoholics who raised her to be dependent on them, so she knows no better, I guess? She, my son’s Mother, has many medical issues and can’t work right now. She receives Sates TANF benefits of less than $400 a month…that’s all! So, I’m supporting two other people (rightfully so in regards to my son) on what I get from a weekly claim UE claim. I have horrible credit…owe 45K to credit cards, plus medical and dental bills. I have a chronic pain condition and have to pay out-of-pocket for Dr. visits and prescriptions. I send out a bundle of resumes a day…hopefully I’ll get a job that won’t aggravate my pain conditions, but I’m willing to do what it takes! I’m doing as much as I can and helping others as much as possible. I keep my anxieties hidden from my son, but he’s not dumb either. He knows I’m unhappy. I have no family available to help and rental assistance is scares. What does a person do to avoid eviction and get caught up on Rent when there’s no money and the landlord has run out of compassion? Ugh! Anybody have suggestions? I apologize if what I noted was a bit long or seemed textbook Self-pity…but it is, what it is! Solution based comments are very encouraged….Please!

I left my job in March 2011 due to increasing seizures and other medical issues. My husband is a truck driver and we have two children. In May, we scraped up the majority of our rent and have kept our landlord informed (we lost the home we owned in bankruptcy). The trucking route took a turn for the worst in May and we will only get a small paycheck for May which we have offered to the landlord. I am fighting desperately for my unemployment (I was denied, but filed an appeal). We have ten days to come up with $1,000 to keep our rental home or we will be homeless. Our checking is overdrawn from bills, food has been given and I have had to cut back on meds. We are beyond broke. The landlord is working with us, but the $1,000 is what we need to keep the home. We cannot live in our car with our children and my seizures. Please offer advice. Our food stamp case is pending along with our medicaid case. Parents and friends/family have given gas but claim they do not have the $1,000. We do have the childrens toys and our TV posted on the internet on sale, but no takers. Please, please, please help? The good news is, husband did get his old route back and things in late June will help. We need to get out of the hole. Every dime we have had has gone to rent. Thank you for reading.

Hello! I am 51, separated, working part-time, and going to school full-time. My 24 yr. old daughter lives with me also has a part-time job. Up until a few months ago the rent and bills were not a problem. Then in March I missed 3 weeks of work due to bronchitis, then a hospital stay with viral meningitis. That put me behind on everything. In April I missed two more weeks of work due to possible whooping cough (turned out to be severe allergies, but the doctor quarantined me until tests came back just in case). Now I am 2 months behind on my rent and next week June rent is due. My landlord had me sign a paper last week stating I agreed to move out if I’m not caught up by June 1. I have been refused help from a couple of local churches and the Salvation Army cannot even talk to me until the middle of June. I was able to give her $400 last Friday, but that did not even cover the electric bills I owe her from Jan. to April. And now I have medical bills on top of all of this. Please let me know ASAP! We once seem like we were living a fairly decent life but now we struggle month to month. My husband and I are desperately seeking employment, we look every single day still no luck. I have been looking for work for the past year and a half. I was on Unemployment until my benefits ended in December. Since then I have been struggling more and more every day. I have 2 Children that mean more to me than anything. My Landlord has been so patient with me but with each month that passes, I have less and less to give him. There is no help in my County. I have called everywhere. Depression is apart of my life and I am at the end of my rope. I am afraid we will be homeless by the Summer time if not sooner. I have worked so hard to get where we are and to stay here but it is no longer in my hands. I have done all I could. I am behind a few months and I need all the help I can get. I know the chances of someone actually helping me here is low but I am trying to do everything I can to keep this roof over our heads. Please help. As SOON as I get a job, I will pay back all that has been given asap!
I hope there is someone out there that can save us. Doesn’t seem like reality.
I will pray for everyone on this site and I hope they are doing better now.

I’ve been looking for a job for the past 8 months. I had two more weeks of unemployment benefits that were going to pay my rent for June. However, the state ran out of money and I will be getting no money and without it, can’t make rent. I have no family near and will be relegated to living in my car which will make finding a job that much harder.
