We are dedicated to helping people learn how to get help for paying rent. Rent aid is something we have been helping people with for years. Our site is going through a revision right now but stay tuned and feel free to leave a comment!
Help with rent and rent aid are real needs from real people. We are asking everyone that needs help and anyone that has figured out great ways to get help to pay rent and bills to share ideas, needs and solutions. We understand that rent aid would help with the day to day costs. Rent is usually the largest bill a person has to pay and that is also why people find themselves a little short on rent day. Paying rent on time will help you in the long run because it can help you sustain a good credit score. But, if you do not maintain a good financial record with your landlord you will begin to see problems on your credit score. Also, if you are evicted you will find it very difficult to get a new apartment because new apartment complexes will ask for references and the last place you lived. Bottom line, you need to pay rent.
If you are short with your rent money there are a few general suggestions we can offer. First, talk to your landlord. Let him/her know that you are suffering from financial difficulties and you need a little extra time to make ends meet. Usually a landlord will work with a tenant that is willing to work with him/her. An open line of communication really is a key part to all of this. If you already have talked to your landlord and you still do not have enough money by the decided time this is going to be when you are really in need of rent aid. If you are going to start asking for money you will want to start with your family because chances are they will not charge you interest. If that is not an option then you need to be willing to do odd jobs for extra money. Offer your services to anyone as often as you can. Even if it’s just passing out some flyers for an extra $30 a week. This is the type of money that can really help when the first comes. Worst case scenario, you prepare to move. Realize that you are now living past your means and you need a place that is more affordable for your situation. this may be a painful choice to make but once you are living in a place where rent is more achievable, life will be better. If you know of other solutions please let us know.

I worked all my life and lost my job a year ago I have borrowed, sold clothing and jewelry, done odd jobs, sold furniture, cds and anything else I could. unemployment has barely covered my expenses. I have scrimped and saved to make it this long but I have nothing left. I already filed bankruptcy. my medical insurance just went up to $400 a month. I cant move because I don’t have a job nor can I afford the security deposit etc to move. I need $125 to pay my rent this month. my landlord charges $35 for a late fee and is not very understanding I have already contacted them and last time I paid only partial rent I received an eviction notice and then they raised my rent.
I desperately need help with the rent. This is the first time in my 5 years of living here that I absolutely don’t have it. Today (4/5/11) is the last day to pay it and not get late charges. I’m 61 and have been looking for work … the last job (temp, hopefully to go permanent) didn’t last as long as it was supposed to. I’ve got a list of medical conditions (morgellons among them) that qualify for disability, but I haven’t applied yet. I am completely broke and don’t have anyone that can help, most help agencies here are out of funds, don’t help my zip code, etc. Cell phone has been cut off, no gas, unexpected car repairs, no money for bills … you get the picture. I never thought the economy would get this bad. I’ve tried the work from home thing, haven’t made a dime …. wish I could find one that wasn’t a scam. Anyway, I’ve got the good Lord, so I’m not giving up.
Please help if you can, and I hope one day I’ll be the person that can provide the help.
I’ve always prided myself on being a strong single mother who has been unemployed for over two years. My unemployment benefits were depleted in February. I somehow was able to pay February, March and April’s rent and utilities on time. However, May’s rent and utilities are weighing on my mind. I searched for work relentlessly for months. Not one single call from an employer. I’ve even filled applications at business where I worked as a teenager and they are not even responding. My son’s father is decease so I receive social security benefits in the amount of $502 on the 3rd of each month. My rent is $766+ $33 water bill which I must pay along with my rent. If not I’ll receive a $50 late fee on the 5th of May. I’m trying to proactive and not wait until the last minute to seek assistance with my rent. Goverment care is giving my son medicaid and $92 month in food stamps as of myself I’m unable to receive assistance
. Please Help.
I lost my job in July of 2010. We have had a friend move in to help with the rent and house bills. We have been doing good until last month when my father in law was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Between the doctor’s appointments, physical therapy appointments, and state aid appointments, my food stamps were cut off for a month (my fault I forgot to get the paperwork in). My husband has applied to be paid to take care of his father with his father’s blessings. Our rent is 1495 a month but now I have late fees coming out of my ears. Any and all help would be a blessing. Thank you
I just turned 62 this past Saturday.
I lost my job here on November 19, 2010.
Unemployment starts in May.
I DO NOT have my rent because two weeks ago I totally was out of money.
My rent for May, the first time I will even be late is 795.00.
Rent is considered late on the 2nd of the month and I was told an eviction notice would be given if rent is not paid.
I even dropped out of school myself in November because there was no way to pay for that.
I really need help this month only.
Please help

Hello all!
I am in a horrible situation at the moment. I have been working since I got out of college and also on my own since then. I lost my job a few months ago and have been getting help from my savings, tax return, friends, and a little family and now at the end of the month, I am completely tapped out. I have no idea how I am going to pay my rent, car note, phone, electricity, etc. Times are getting crazy at this point and I am trying desperately to stay sane, keep positive, and generate positive energy, but it is a daily challenge. If someone out there reads this, and is able to help this one time, I would GREATLY appreciated it more than you could ever know! Please and thank you…
I am a single mother of two and lost my job in March. I like most others am getting unemployment which is not close to being enough to pay the bills, I have sold anything of value , cut of the direct TV ect and now have not paid rent for May and here June is. My landlord is not sympathetic understandably so but in the meantime I am facing eviction and have no place to go. I lived week to week already so there was no money in savings. I desperately need help.
I am a newly single mother of a one year old girl. I am in desperate need of help with rent and bills, as my husband was the sole provider and he recently passed away in a car accicident. I am just heartbroken, and struggling to get on my feet to move on with my daughter.
